simple warm cinnamon apple recipe (and other apple snack ideas)

written by Jasmine Irven

Apples are such a staple in my Fall and Winter meal prep. They’re affordable, delicious, and oh so versatile.

Here are a few of my favourite ways to enjoy them:

  • sliced and dipped in almond butter (or another nut butter of your choosing)

  • as apple “nachos” — sliced and put on a plate with a drizzle of melted chocolate and peanut butter, and granola sprinkled on top

  • chopped, warmed in a frying pan, and added to oatmeal

  • in a green smoothie

  • as juice, blended with lemon, ginger, and spinach

  • as warmed apples with cinnamon (recipe below)

ingredients

  • 1 apple

  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

instructions

01. Heat the coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

02. Slice or cube the apples and once the pan is warm and coconut oil is melted, add the apples.

03. Sprinkle cinnamon on top (adjust based on preference).

04. Heat until apples are warmed through, stirring regularly.

05. Enjoy!
