4 Rituals to Prioritize in Your Morning Routine: Embracing Slowing Down & Breathing Deeply
Recently I’ve felt the pull to embrace more of a slower living lifestyle. With this mindset shift I’m still moving through my morning with a few self-care rituals in mind, but there’s a lot less pressure behind them and a lot less rigidity to them.
Maybe you’ve felt this shift too. This urge to slow down, to breathe deeply, and to do less, while still incorporating intentional practices into your day and life.
If so, here are 4 flexible wellbeing rituals I try to fit into my mornings each day to help me feel my best, that might also work for you.
14 (random) things I'm loving this spring season (fresh + cleansing)
The start of the spring season invites us to start getting outside more, cleansing our lives and our spaces to clear space and invite in the new, and focusing on what’s important to us.
So, with those intentions in mind I’ve curated a list of 12 (random) things I’m loving this season.
ways to start your day
I used to love writing posts with ideal schedules; an ideal morning routine, an ideal evening routine, etc., but I’ve realized more that a concrete schedule is unrealistic.
Every day is different - your energy levels, mood, what you feel or don’t feel like doing, and what your schedule looks like. So, I’ve started blocking off my morning and then leaning into what I feel like doing in the moment! Here are a few examples for inspiration.
banana walnut pancakes (plant-based)
Slow Saturday mornings have become really important to me — sipping my coffee while reading, attending a (virtual) morning yoga class, going to the gym or doing an at-home workout, and then making pancakes and a green juice or smoothie.
So, I’ve been experimenting with some pancake recipes that are both healthy(ish) and delicious!
winter berry smoothie (plant-based)
In this recipe we use a mix of greens and berries to give a range of nutrients, we use frozen ingredients because fresh berries and bananas likely aren’t available where you are in winter months, and include the warming properties of cinnamon to help give our bodies the support they’re craving.
Plus, adding the healthy fats and protein powder, while optional, will help to fill us up and provide our bodies with additional warmth.
6 questions to ask yourself when you’re stressed
Stress has its place, but we’ve become so accustomed to these feelings that it’s sometimes challenging to even recognize them. Check-in with yourself: your body, mind, and soul, to notice where you might be feeling a little stress, tension, or resistance. Here’s a simple list of questions you can begin to ask yourself in every day life when you’re feeling stressed or simply “off.”
I hope these guide you to find ways you can make subtle shifts that will relieve some of this stress and help you to simply feel better and more at ease, wherever you are.
simple warm cinnamon apple recipe (and other apple snack ideas)
Apples are such a staple in my Fall and Winter meal prep. They’re affordable, delicious, and oh so versatile. Here are a few of my favourite ways to enjoy them: sliced and dipped in almond butter or warmed with coconut oil and cinnamon. Here’s the recipe! It’s vegan and plant-based, gluten free, cheap, and healthy.
managing your time (and overwhelm) as a multi-passionate entrepreneur
Hey you. Yes, you. You with the notebook filled to the brim with ideas and inspiration, the 15 hobbies and passion projects you know you could make into a business if you wanted to, and the to do list that literally never ends. There’s a name for us - and no it’s not just crazy. 🤪We’re multi-passionate.
But even if that’s the case, at times having so much on the go can be overwhelming, and it’s important to have strategies in place to ensure you don’t get burnt out.

common misconceptions about being plant-based
When I started to shift my diet to mostly plant-based and others around me noticed, I got a lot of questions, and a lot of criticism. People questioning why I was making the changes I was, and telling me that I couldn’t possibly get the protein I needed without eating meat or the calcium I needed without dairy. If you are plant-based or considering a plant-based lifestyle, it’s important to inform yourself about some of the biggest misconceptions out there about being plant-based.
fall vibes in a season that looks different this year

the benefits of seasonal eating (for you and the planet!)
A lot of the time we get stuck in routines of eating the same foods over and over again, because it's often easier to stick with what we're comfortable with, rather than try something new. Here are 3 reasons why you should shift to local, seasonal eating as much as possible (for your health and the planet’s!).
