simple orange, lemon, and turmeric immune booster shot recipe

Given everything going on in the world right now, I notice that many of us have been taking extra steps to enhance our self-care routines.

From joining in on Instagram Live workouts, to preparing healthy home-cooked meals, to spending time meditating, I must say that I’m quite proud of how well those around me have been keeping up.

Last month, my sister put my family onto immune booster shots, because we all want to make sure our immune systems are A1 during these trying times. We both figured that sharing is caring, so today we’ve created the perfect booster shot recipe for you!

With simple ingredients that you most likely have at home, this booster will leave you feeling energized, stable and ready for the day ahead. Cheers to your health!

overview

  • Prep time: 10 minutes

  • Total time: 15 minutes

  • Servings: 4

what you’ll need

  • 1 orange

  • 1 lemon

  • ¼ tsp turmeric

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1″ ginger

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

recipe

  1. Using a hand juicer (or a fork), squeeze the juice of the entire orange and lemon into a large glass.

  2. Grate or crush the ginger into the mixture.

  3. Add in turmeric, cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar.

  4. Place a hand-strainer overtop of a pyrex measuring cup (if you don’t have one, you can use a cheesecloth/paper towel/coffee filter, etc.) and pour the mixture into the strainer. Use the back of a tablespoon to press on the fibres in the strainer and release the remaining juices into the measuring cup.

  5. Grab a few shot glasses and PO’ UP!

You’ll notice that this recipe does produce a bit of a kick with the cayenne pepper and ginger, so feel free to modify ingredients as you find necessary. I like to enjoy my immune booster shots first thing in the morning to cleanse my system. Stay healthy and stay indoors my friends. Until next time!

In peace & love,
Viki
